Bid on this bottle of 2013 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Clos des Bouchères" ((91-93BH), 93JG, 92RP, 92VN). Burghound: "A more elegant, airy and slightly cooler nose displays notes of citrus, rose petal, essence of almost and a hint of jasmine tea. There is an equally good sense of refinement to the ultra-pure and more obviously mineral-inflected flavors that culminate in an understated, clean and beautifully focused and balanced finish that is positively Zen-like in its sense of harmony. This and the Porusot beautifully demonstrate the two extremes of the Meursault 1ers as they contrast power and punch with elegance and finesse. Note that while these are qualitative equals they could hardly be more different. *Outstanding*" (06/2015)

Bid on this magnum of 2020 Saxum "Rocket Block - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Willow Creek District Rhône Blend (1.5L) (95DC, 95WS, 94VN, 93JD, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "The dark hue signals a powerfully structured version, but this red gets a lift from its polish and rich flavors of raspberry, licorice, crushed rock and savory pepper, which take on flesh toward medium-grained tannins. Bid on this bottle of 1997 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes on the vintage from Heitz Cellars: "After several short vintages, the 1997 crop was extremely large, bringing production levels back to meet demand. With budbreak occurring a month early, the vineyards went into bloom with a great fruit set and a large crop. Except for one hot week in August, the summer days and nights were consistent and moderate. With most vineyards reaching their maturity, light rains arrived in mid-September. The vintage was characterized by 'a uniformity of ripeness especially in Napa Valley where the Cabernets were extraordinarily deep in color, forward in black fruit flavors, and refined with their mature tannins."

Bid on this bottle of 1976 La Mission Haut-Brion, Graves . The history of La Mission Haut Brion dates back to the 16th century, when it was owned by the Lestonnac family, who were related to the Pontac family, the owners of Chateau Haut Brion. In 1682, the estate was donated to the Congregation of the Mission, a religious order founded by Saint Vincent de Paul. The priests cultivated the vineyards for nearly 130 years, until the French Revolution, when the estate was confiscated by the state. The estate changed hands several times, until it was bought by the Woltner family in 1919, who modernized the winemaking and improved the quality of the wines. In 1983, the estate was sold to Domaine Clarence Dillon, the owners of Chateau Haut Brion, who have continued the tradition of excellence and innovation.

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (95WE, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "A fabulously rich and approachable Pinot Noir that offers everything now, yet will also age. The considerable tannins will protect it in the cellar for a good 6-8 years, but it's so fresh and vibrant in cherries, red currants and oak-inspired red licorice that it's hard not to drink it now. Hard to exaggerate the deliciousness factor." (03/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (94WE, 90WS). Wine Enthusiast: "Ripe and racy on the nose, this always much-anticipated release shows black raspberry, baked strawberry, wet cement, cinnamon and mace spice and cola on the nose. The palate is surprisingly, refreshingly restrained, with sizzling acidity cutting across the chocolate-dipped black cherries, baking spice, dried oregano and rosemary that show in the mid-palate. Of the 2006 Bond "Vecina" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend, Vinous writes: "The 2006 Vecina is another fabulous wine. Fresh, delineated and pedigreed to the core, the 2006 exudes class. I am especially struck by how young the 2006 tastes. Along with the 2008, the 2006 belongs to the family of more mineral-driven Vecinas. (AG)" (11/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 100JS, 100RP, 96VN). Wine Advocate: "Scarecrow's inky/purple-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a prodigious effort. It reveals a liqueur of crushed rocks intermixed with a smorgasbord of spring flower, blueberry, creme de cassis, and assorted blue, black, and red fruit characteristics. It also possesses extraordinary concentration, but what sets it apart is the fragrant aromatics combined with uncommon purity and elegance for such a full-bodied, massively concentrated wine. Medium-bodied with fine tannin structure that gives this finesse and beauty. It’s very long and goes on for minutes. Precision. 68% sangiovese with the rest in cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. Of the 1985 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Vinous writes: "Good full medium red, with faint amber at the edge. Pungent scents of raspberry, spices, cedar and eucalyptus. A distinctly penetrating, high-acid style with noteworthy clarity and energy to its floral flavors of berries, dark cherry and loam complicated by a touch of molasses and an obvious oak component. This soil-driven midweight, the product of a long, cool growing season, finishes with a sneaky building whiplash of flavor, with a slight dry edge suggesting energetic extraction. Vinous: "Another dazzling wine, the 1982 Pichon Lalande is utterly profound from the very first taste. In the glass, the 1982 is powerful and explosive, with seemingly endless layers of flavor that continue to unfurl over time. Vivid, intensely aromatic and seamless, the 1982 has enough pedigree and depth to drink well for at least several decades. What a wine! (AG)" (06/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 1984 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (94RP, 91VN, 91WS). Wine Advocate: "The best showing ever for this wine from my perspective, this blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon is considered a relatively forward, accessible style of Grange. The color is still a dark plum/purple, and the wine shows plenty of sweet cassis, with notes of chocolate and toasty oak. The wine is opulent and luscious, with great intensity, full body, and fabulous extract. The acidity seems relatively low and integrated, and the tannins quite ripe. (RP)" (01/2002)

Bid on this bottle of 1985 L'Evangile, Pomerol (95RP, 95VN, 93JG, 92WS). Vinous: "The 1985 L'Evangile is a Pomerol that took many years to come round—bottles were still quite impenetrable after 20 years. Now, after almost 40 years, this is probably my favourite vintage for the estate after the 1989. Slightly darker in colour, this offers black fruit, black truffle and leather as more loamy scents surface with aeration. I appreciate the complexity of this Pomerol. The palate holds onto that structure and grip (I wonder if it underwent a longer maceration than normal?). With lightly spiced red fruit and hints of bacon fat, this L'Evangile is now at its peak. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (95DC, 92JS, 91RP, 91ST). Decanter: "The 2009 Southing is a coiled-up, red-fruited, muscular Pinot. The nose is compact with whispers of cherry, vanilla, sweet cedar, herbs, and a pronounced iron-like mineral note. Muscular, with powerful beams of tannins, a firm backbone of grippy acidity, and a finish marked by dark chocolate, mint, earth, and conifer. (JC)" (04/2023)

Bid on this bottle of 2022 Kongsgaard Napa Valley Chardonnay (93VN). Vinous: "The 2022 Chardonnay (Napa Valley) is typically a blend of Hyde, Hudson, Arcadia and a few others. In 2022, Hudson was not in the blend. Dried lemon peel, tangerine oil, hazelnut and chamomile unfurl in the glass. The drought conditions of the year produced a wine of considerable intensity. Its weight and viscous intensity make it a sort of mini-Judge. The 2022 is very dense and phenolic. (AG)" (12/2024)

More unevolved notes of blueberries, raspberries, crushed violets, lead pencil, iron, and graphite give way to a huge, rich, full-bodied wine that has some obvious minerality, loads of floral nuances, polished tannins, and a great finish." Of the 2007 Vineyard 29 "CRU" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Wine Advocate writes: "One of Napa’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines in the $50 range is Vineyard 29's 2007 Cru. Produced by owners Chuck and Ann McMinn and their consulting winemaker, Philippe Melka, there are 5, 000 cases of this blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are all purchased, and the wine is made at their state-of-the-art facility just off Highway 29 north of St. Helena. Vinous: "The 2013 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru from Domaine Raveneau sports lucid green tints in the glass. It has what you might describe as a “mean” nose, hints of fresh limes, gooseberry and petrichor. Plenty of mineralité here. Moderate intensity, tight at first, this Valmur requires a few minutes to find its groove, delivering stem ginger-tinged citric peel with a slightly oiliness towards the finish that is surprising given the growing season. Quite penetrating on the close. This is excellent, yet it deserves more bottle age. (NM)" (09/2022)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Kistler "Dutton Ranch" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((94-96RP), 92VN). Wine Advocate: "More weight and power along with notes of roasted hazelnuts, peach, and smoky, almost clarified butter smells emerge from the 2005 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch. More extroverted and exuberant than the McCrea cuvee, it is an unusually elegant effort (because the acids are crisp and refreshing) that should drink beautifully for 7-8 years. Kistler Vineyards, undeniably one of the world’s finest winemaking estates, is run with passionate dedication to detail and quality by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler. It is wines like these that keep an old critic like me inspired and energized. (RP)" (12/2006)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2018 Aubert "Powder House" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 97JD, 96JS, 96WS, (92-95VN)). Wine Advocate: "The second vintage of this wine, the 2018 Chardonnay Powder House comes from eight acres of what are now estate-owned vines planted in 2013 to Hyde Old Wente and Mt. Eden clones on Goldridge soils. The vineyard is located in downtown Forestville, right across from the high school. It bursts with tantalizing notions of peaches and cream, orange sherbet and lemon pastilles giving way to a grounded, serious core of Bosc pears, beeswax and baking bread. Full-bodied with a gorgeous creaminess to the texture, it delivers loads of citrus sparks among the stone fruit background with a lively backbone and very long finish. (LPB)" (01/2021)

Bid on this bottle of La Rogerie "Le Bourg Sud" Grand Cru Reserve Perpetuelle 18-22 Champagne (95DC, 92VN). Decanter: "A new release based on the hot and dry 2022 vintage, this vivid, deep and layered blanc de blancs presents the finest release yet from hotly tipped growers with vineyards based in the grand cru village of Avize. Bourg Sud comes from the vineyards heading towards Oger. It has an entrancing balance between energy of fruit and layered complexity, even at such a young age. There are flavours of toasted hazelnut and brown pastry with a beautifully measured oak influence. It never strays from the verve and vinosity of ultra-ripe, crunchy apricot and lemon-zest Chardonnay fruit. It's a highly expressive Champagne but one that doesn't overstep the mark in either ripeness or vinification. Earmark this for anywhere you'd pour a fine still Chardonnay at the table. There's no need to age this for a long time, either. (TH)" (11/2025)

Very concentrated, palate-saturating black cherry and black raspberry flavor. Thick and round but vibrant and delineated. Impressive extract. Explosive finishing fruit goes on and on. Int'l Wine Review: "The 2015 'Southing' Pinot Noir is an outstanding effort sourced from Sea Smokes' south facing Estate Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. This Pinot Noir is absolutely delectable, however it needs some time in the glass before it begins to fully express itself. Once awakened, the nose evokes a fantastic range of aromatics from blood orange to smoky tones to red cherry preserves, which all come together beautifully. The palate reveals a wonderful velvety texture and a soft mouthfeel, backed by mouth-watering acidity along with a lovely underlying saline mineral steak. Delightful flavors of black cherry cola, mulberry, black tea and Asian spices continue to merge together and leave a gorgeous lasting impression on the finish. (OB)" (11/2018)

It has a medium ruby-purple color with detailed aromas of cranberry jelly, pomegranate, lavender, dried herbs and flint. The medium-bodied palate features crunchy fruit and fireworks of fresh acidity, with an approachable, chalky frame and long, spicy finish. Yum! The Wine Independent: "The 2022 UV-SL Vineyards Chardonnay was tasted as a barrel sample. Super intense notes of lime leaves, green mango, and green apples jump from the glass with hints of wet pebbles, honeysuckle, and allspice. The full-bodied palate is so light on its feet, with vibrant citrus and mineral sparks and a lively backbone to lift the long yeasty/zesty finish. This vineyard is named after one of Sonoma’s most reputable vineyard managers, Ulises Valdez Sr. (UV), who passed away recently. The site is on Stoetz Lane (SL), only six miles from the Pacific Ocean, up on the hills around Graton and Occidental. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (95JS, 95VN, 94RP, 94WS, 93DC). Vinous: "I tasted the 1982 Lynch-Bages twice within a month, both at a private dinner in London and at the château, from bottle and double-magnum on separate occasions. Both vindicate an exceptionally fine 1982, perhaps a bit overlooked in a vintage full of stars. Curiously, the bottle in Bordeaux does not fully deliver the mesmerizing freshness and energy compared to the bottle in London: pencil-lead-tinged black fruit intermixed with clove and freshly-rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, perhaps just a little austere compared to its peers. Yet, indeed, the bottle in London exudes class and composure with a detailed, mineral-driven vintage belying that year's unseasonably warm period. Superb. (NM)" (07/2023)

This full-bodied beauty is tight and closed on the palate, yet is just loaded with potential... Bravo!" (12/2017)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (96DC, 93RP). Decanter: "The nose is practically humming, hovering close to perfection, the burnished Tuscan sun on full display. This is the most perfect level of ripeness, warmth, beauty and juiciness; the main quality here is drinkability. This still has the bite of tannins, their teeth are still on display but exerting a languorous hold, nothing fierce or menacing at this point. Roasted wild strawberries, grilled over sarments, elongated tannins with nothing to prove. (JA)" (10/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 1982 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JG, 90RP, 90VN). John Gilman: "The bouquet is deep, complex and classically Georges de Latour in its beautiful blend of red and black cherries, chocolate, a touch of coconutty oak, gentle cigar smoke and Rutherford dust in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and quite suave on the attack, with a fine core of fruit, gentle tannins, excellent focus and lovely length and grip on the pure, plush and refined finish. This is probably the last great classic vintage of the Georges de Latour bottling, and at least in magnum, it is drinking very well indeed and has plenty of life still ahead of it." (03/2009)

Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 2006 Martinelli "Lolita Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. According to the Producer's Website: The Lolita Ranch is located on Martinelli Road in Forestville. Giuseppe & Luisa had purchased the steep, forested landscape in the late 1800's and then later sold this particular section to a neighbor. On this site, circa 1900, there once stood a small country schoolhouse where some of the Martinelli family attended at the turn of the century. Eventually the ranch was passed on to Bob and Lolita Young, who ran a herd of Angus and Hereford cattle on the land for many years. Third generation farmer, Lee Martinelli Jr., and his wife Pamela acquired the property in 1999, returning it back to the Martinelli estate and to the family’s continuing century-long legacy of viticulture. Lee Jr. planted the steep hillside with four different grape varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Zinfandel.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2018 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (95VN, 95WE). Vinous: "The 2018 Pinot Noir Southing is laced with bold dark-fleshed fruit, menthol, licorice, spice and mocha. A wine of volume and depth, the 2018 offers tons of allure, with plush contours and impeccable overall balance. (AG)" (06/2022)

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Cayuse "Camaspelo" Walla Walla Valley Red Blend (96RP, 95IWR, 93VN, 92WE). Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Camaspelo is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (there's a splash of Tempranillo). It offers lots of red and chocolate-covered black currants, black cherry, black olive, tobacco and leafy herbs. It shows more fruit with time in the glass, has a full-bodied, ultra-pure, layered style and plenty of fine tannin. (JD) 96+" (06/2017)
